X Adventure Race

Horsford, Norfolk

Dog Lane, Horsford, Norwich, Norfolk NR10 3DH, UK

Sat 3rd September 2022

Organiser's Description

Your journey starts here! X Adventure Race is an obstacle race with a difference – teams must work together to conquer and complete obstacles set out around the course, scoring a number of points for each challenge they face.

Teams have a maximum of 2 hours to complete as many laps of our approximate 1.5km course as they wish, gaining the most amount of points they can along the way!

An introduction to the world of adventure racing, with snippets seen in some of the most popular race series, X Adventure Race packs a lot. Look forward to: paddling an improvised raft across our lakes; crawling on your bellies through mud thicker than treacle; testing your aim with a bow and arrow; the sweet feeling of success as you conquer the triple walls; and best of all, the euphoric sensation when you cross the finish line with your team having achieved something great!

X Adventure Race is aimed at any beginners new to world of mud runs and adventure/obstacle races, including anyone who has an interest in gaining experience before seeking out bigger events or higher ambitions.

FAQs

  • What do I need to bring?

Your printed and signed ‘Acknowledgment of Risk Form’. Bring a change of clothes, shoes and towel. A few black bags for post-race wet kit is always a good idea. Any food/drink/snacks you wish to have after you finish to replace all that spent energy! There will be food and drinks available to purchase in the event village.

  • What should I wear?

Be prepared to get fully submerged in water! Long sleeves and trousers are strongly not advised. Wear fast-drying, breathable clothing that you are happy to get very dirty and wet in. Technical fabric garments are perfect – cotton gets heavy and cold when wet. Skin dries the quickest… less is more! Make sure to tie shoe laces tightly to avoid losing them to the muddy ooze. More grip the better! Strictly NO studs or spikes.

  • Do I have to be super fit to take part in X Adventure Race?

No. X Adventure Race is designed to be an introductory event for anyone with an interest in obstacle course races; or mud runs; or anyone who wants to try something new and fun!

  • Do I need to be able to swim?

Competitors must be confident in water and be able to swim at least 50m in wet clothing.

  • Can I miss out obstacles or walk around them?

Nothing is mandatory, push yourself as much or as little as you like. Attempt as many obstacles as you can to get the full X Adventure experience. The more obstacles conquered, the more points scored for your team. Teamwork is key!

  • Is there somewhere to leave my bag/keys?

There will be a bag/key drop area in the event village, close to the start/finish line. Please use at your own risk.

  • Are there washing and changing facilities?

We have a limited number of hot water showers available on site. Whilst these are free to use, please limit the time spent under the showers to prevent queues – think of the person behind you!

  • What's included with the ticket?

    - X Adventure Finishers Medal & Bragging rights - Warm drink, either Tea/Coffee/Squash - Flapjack bar - Hot post-race showers - Full course spectator access

  • Can spectators watch the race?

X Adventure Race offers free complete spectator access to cheer and photograph your team round the course. Spectators must not block or clutter activity/obstacle areas. There will be food and drinks available for purchase in the event village.

  • Are dogs allowed?

Dogs with spectators must be under direct supervision at all times and must not interfere with the event activities/obstacles. Please clear up after them.
