The marathon has grown in stature since its inception in 2012 and is consistently ranked in the top 10 UK marathons. The race is an AIMS/IAAF Grade A certified race, which means it is a qualifying event for London, Boston, and other World majors. With British Association of Road Races (BARR) Gold accreditation for outstanding race management for the last ten years. The event will again be held at the renowned Stadium:MK, home to the MK Dons Football Club, for the next five years.
