The Pendine Sands Races

Pendine Sands, Carmarthen, UK

Sun 13th April 2025

5 races

£29.00 - £300.00

Organiser's Description

The Pendine Sands Races include options for 5k, 10k and Half Marathon

All of these races are Cup-Free, so please bring your own re-useable cup (available in our store).

Half Marathon details:

The half marathon event is a single loop, running the full length of the beach and then returning on quiet lanes back to the start

10km and 5km details:

An out and back along the beach, turning at a point where a race marshal holds a flag.

You may think that running on the sand will be extremely difficult, but at Pendine the sands are home to the land speed record attempts made famous by the Blue Bird car. This means that generally the sand underfoot is quite firm and absolutely perfect for running on, especially for barefoot running.

Start times:

Please note – Race starts for 2025 are dependant on the Tide Tables.

A pre-race email will be out first week in April to advise start times.
