April Ascent Challenge

Virtual Event

Fri 1st April 2022 - Sat 30th April 2022

Starting at 09:00

Organiser's Description

Take on the FGR April Ascent Challenge!

Run, walk, or hike the height of some of the worlds most famous mountains.

Incorporating hill training into your running routine is a great way to build strength in your legs and core. It will make those flat runs seem like a breeze! And with every ascend, there is a descend which works a whole other host of essential muscles to make you an overall stronger runner.

This challenge is all about making you accountable for those climbs. This isn't about running fast or getting PBs. Run the climb or hike it, both are just as good for you. I’m sure you will also see some awesome views and get some great scenic shots along the way!

To make this open to all abilities, we have a range of challenge options for you to ascend. You have to ascend the climb in the month of April, with as many runs as you like. You can do the climb as fast as you like or take the whole month and accumulate the elevation over a number of runs. Log the runs anywhere in the world. Then all you have to do is send us your evidence to [email protected]

Choose from the following to ascend in April:
Beginner: Snowdon (3,068ft / 935m)
Amateur: Ben Nevis (4413ft / 1345m)
Semi-pro: Mt Fuji (12,388ft / 3776m)
Professional: Monte Blanc (15,774t / 4804)
Advanced: Kilimanjaro (19,340 / 5895m)
Elite: The Andes (22,838ft / 6961m)
