Aztec Race returns for the third year to a new venue, the Holme Pierrepont Country Park, home of the National Watersports Centre. In 2020 we have changed up the race by taking a step away from the Obstacle Course Race theme of the last two years, and moved more towards a trail race, with an Obstacle themed finish line! Why? Because we know we can organise a race as epic as normal that appeals to even more people. Aztec Race 2020 is going to be biggest and best yet!
Our course is split into 7.5km loops, so by choosing either our 7.5km or 15km waves, you will be running either one or two loops of our amazing course. The course is made up of some amazing trail and will involve lake and river crossings, and because of our OCR background, the approach to the finish line will have an Obstacle race influence. 7.5km waves start at 11.20am, 11.40am and 12.00pm. 15km waves start at 10.00am, 10.20am and 10.40am.
Competitive Wave – Push yourself against other competitive runners for the chance to be our fastest Male & Female competitor and lift the Aztec Race Trophy. Female Competitive Wave starts at 9.30am. Male Competitive Wave starts at 9.40am. (When booking, select the 7.5km race option, and then select the preference to be part of our Competitive Wave.)
The Crazed – Are you made of something more? Become one of The Crazed and push yourself as you attempt to complete 5 laps of the Aztec Race course. All competitors who sign up to The Crazed will receive a tech tee. The Crazed Wave starts at 9.15am.
