DORCHESTER Half marathon, 10km and 5km

Dorchester is the county town of Dorset, England. It is situated between Poole and Bridport on the A35 trunk route. A historic market town, Dorchester is on the banks of the River Frome to the south of the Dorset Downs and north of the South Dorset Ridgeway that separates the area from Weymouth, 7 miles to the south.

 

ABOUT THE ROUTE

The South West county town hosts this Half Marathon, 10km and 5km running route, come and enjoy an end of season road run around Dorchester.

After successful running of the event in 2021 we have decided to return and include this event again in our running calendar.

A perfect opportunity to relax and just come and have a casual run after the years efforts, it's not overly hilly and is an interesting run around the town hitting lots of leafy suburbs, side roads and plenty of quite roads and pavements.

 

EVENT CENTRE:

The event centre location is at

Dorchester Cricket club

Weymouth avenue

Dorchester DT1 2EN

and will include

- Toilets (Real toilets)
- Hot drinks and cake (FREE)

 

Being a small event, there is no major hot food available, however there will be Tea, Coffee and cake.

If you’re wanting something more substantial there are many local restaurants near to the parking location (Booking advised).

Please note parking and the event centre are in different locations for 2022.

(THERE IS NO PARKING AT THE START LOCATION).

EACH RUNNER WILL RECIEVE:

- A fantastic finisher medal
- Entry goodies (Distance specific)
- Timed results
- Safe bag drop
- Aid station/s (Route distance will determine how many)
- First aid in the event centre and throughout the event course

 

EVENT INFORMATION

With dedicated public parking in the centre of Dorchester approx. 700m from the start and finish line (DT1 1QW).

Registration, The Start and Finish will all be at Dorchester cricket club (DT1 2EN).

 

With lots of places for family and friends to cheer you on.

With a bag drop, coffee and cake available at the Start/Finish.

A relaxed and welcoming environment awaits the runners.

 

SPECIFIC EVENT INFORMATION

Registration will be from 0800 – 0945

The HALF event will start at 1000

The 10km event will start at 1000

The 5km event will start at 1000

 

There will be a small safety brief on the start line just before the race begins, if you miss the briefing, you will not be able to compete.

 

AFTER ENTERING:

On entering the event you will receive a booking confirmation email.

If you don’t receive it, please check your Spam/Junk folder.

Further event details will be sent to your registered email address before the event.

 

Event updates will arrive approx. 2 weeks before an event, but everything you need to know is contained within these event pages.

 

Transfers and deferrals close 1 month before an event.

 

EVENT PACK / NUMBERS etc:

We don’t send anything through the post, everything you need for the event is collected at Registration on the morning of the event, please leave enough time to register and be ready for the start, the start for this event is at 1000 with the safety brief taking place at 0945 (if you miss this brief you will not be able to take part).

 

MORE INFORMATION

Whether you’re setting yourself a fitness target, looking to achieve a new PB, raising money for your good cause or just coming to join the hundreds of other runners who are running for their own goals, you know you can also run just for fun.

(The event is limited of 500 runners over all the distances).
