Brixham Sporting Events had organised this exciting new event for 2020, offering participants an Olympic-Distance Triathlon right in the heart of Torbay, Devon. The course promised a challenging and picturesque swim, bike, run suitable for all abilities, with the swim set in one of Britain's most beautiful fishing ports. The bike course featured some challenging hills and stunning views, while the 10km road and trail run showcased all that Brixham has to offer. A new event for 2020! An Olympic-Distance Triathlon in the heart of Torbay, Devon.

A challenging and picturesque swim, bike, run, suitable for all abilities, set in one of Britain’s busiest and most beautiful fishing ports.

A sheltered sea swim leads on to the bike course with a few challenging hills and beautiful views, finishing with a 10km road and trail run taking in all that Brixham has to offer.

The Swim

The race begins with a ramp entry into the sea at Oxen Cove in Brixham, close to the town’s world famous fish market. The 1500m swim, in waters sheltered by the breakwater, takes competitors to on a loop close to 2 beautiful coves, Churston and Fishcombe, before heading back to the slipway to enter T1.

The Bike

The 40km bike leg consists of 2 laps, taking mainly country lanes to Kingswear and back. The route involves a number of challenging climbs, followed by some exhilarating descents, with beautiful views of both Torbay and Dartmouth throughout.

The Run

The 10km run takes in some of Brixham’s most famous and beautiful landmarks. Straight out of T2, competitors will run around the harbour, past the William of Orange statue, and out and along the breakwater. The runners will then head out to the Napoleonic Fort at Berry Head, before looping through Brixham, back around the harbour, through the beautiful Battery Gardens to finish back at Oxen Cove.

Parking

There is limited parking next to the transition available on a first come, first served basis. This car park is run by Torbay Council. There are a number of car parks in Brixham town centre, within a 5 minute walk to the start, as well as limited road parking available

Btu Membership

Do I need to be a British Triathlon Federation member?

No, however it is advised to have membership, which covers third party insurance, legal services, personal accident insurance, including international race coverage.

If you are a BTF member you must bring your membership card to the event.

If you are not a member you will be asked to pay a fee for a day license which provides you with insurance for personal injury. The cost is £6 for adults and £3 for children, (cash on the day). This is mandatory as we are operating under British Triathlon Federation rules.

How To Get There

The race start, finish and transition area are located at Oxen Cove car park in Brixham. Please use Google Maps to plan your journey to the event.

What time does the race start?

That depends which wave you are in. Individual wave and start time information will be emailed out prior to the race!


Registration

Race pack collection will take place at the Registration Tent. You must register in person and bring photo identification. Registration will be open from 6AM on the morning of the event, with early registration available in the afternoon of Saturday 30th May.
