The Eirias Sprint Triathlon & Duathlon is a thrilling multisport event set at Eirias Park, Colwyn Bay, on the stunning north Wales coast.

This early season pool-swim triathlon and duathlon is set to become a staple in the calendar!

The coastal park runs and stunning bike route make this an event to remember, perfect for new and seasoned athletes alike! With a unique finish around Eirias Park's Stadiwm CSM running track, come and join us for a race atmosphere you'll remember!

Course Details

Your swim takes place in the Colwyn Leisure Centre pool, making it exceptionally accessible for beginner triathletes.

Once you have completed your swim you'll head into transition and onto the bike. We'll announce the exact bike course very shortly, but you will soon be back in transition, ready for the run.

The run route explores Eirias Park itself, before returning to Stadiwm CSM, where you’ll receive the glory you deserve as you finish your race around the athletics track.

How to Get There

Eirias Park has good transport links and is easy to find. Use the postcode LL29 7SP to locate the event village.

TRAIN
Colwyn Bay train station is the closes to Eirias Park, just 0.8miles away. Regular services along the North Wales line operate in both directions, Monday through Saturday.

CAR
There’s quick, straightforward access from the North West along the M56 and A55. Motorway links with the Midlands are good too, and the same roads – the M6, M5 and M1 – also bring Colwyn Bay & Eirias Park within easy reach of the South of England.

Getting to Eirias Park is fairly straight forward if you're driving from the North Wales coast. The most direct way is to follow the A55 to Junction 21, marked Colwyn Bay before following the B5113 and Abergele Rd to the Stadium entrance.

Parking

Parking information is included in your Final Instructions which will be emailed to you at least 10 days prior to event. Please be considerate to the local residents when parking and use pay and display carparks where possible.

FAQs

  • WHAT IS IN MY RACE PACK?

    Timing chip – must be secured to your ankle with the Velcro strap provided and returned to the organisers at the finish line. There is a £55 charge for lost or non-returned timing chips. Race number bib – Worn on the back for the bike section and on the front for run section. A triathlon race belt helps swap your bib quickly from back to front and are available for purchase at the Always Aim High Events Store. Teams are provided with 2 bibs. Bike Flag – Peel the backing and secure to your bike seat post. Colour coded swim hat – see race day section for more details. If you already have the colour hat required you can return your unused hat at the drop off at registration as part of our environmental initiative.

  • WHAT TIME WILL I START MY SWIM?

    You'll be able to find out the swim time you have been allocated via the live tracker approximately 10 days before the event. Times are determined on your estimated swim time at point of entry.

  • IS THERE A MINIMUM AGE TO TAKE PART IN THIS EVENT?

    You must be at least 15 years old to take part in this event.

  • I HAVE A DISABILITY CAN I STILL PARTICIPATE?

    We are keen to make our events as accessible and inclusive as possible, however, due to the location of some of our events and the course terrain there may be limitations.

DO YOU HAVE CUT OFF TIMES?
You have 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete your race.

DO YOU PROVIDE NUTRITION?
Yes. Water, energy drinks and gels are available at drink stations. Please see online route maps for approximate feed station locations. The most up to date information will be detailed in your Final Instructions.

WHAT CAN I TAKE IN TO TRANSITION?
Competitors should only bring equipment into transition that will be used for the competition. A small soft-sided bag such as a rucksack may be used and remain in transition, though it must not impede the progress of another competitor.

DO I NEED A WETSUIT?
Wetsuits are not permitted as the swim takes place in an indoor pool.

ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS ON THE TYPE OF BIKE I CAN USE?
E-bikes or any other power assisted bikes are not allowed. All other bikes, including mountain bikes are permitted. You don't have to have an expensive bike to take part!

  • Your Final Instructions will be sent out to you at least 10 days before the event. These instructions include all the detailed information you will need about the event and your specific race including confirmed timings
