The triathlon kicks off with a 750 metre swim in the protected waters of Fishguard bay, followed by a challenging 20 mile Bike Course that takes you to St Davids and back. Finish strong with a 4 mile sprint run course through the picturesque surroundings. Organiser's Description

The Fishguard Triathlon is perfect for you, if you’re someone who has a need for speed. Based across north Pembrokeshire headlands and coastline, find yourself at the heart of beautiful Welsh natural landscapes to guide you through the race. Beginning at Fishguard bay for the 750 metre swim, which is protected by a breakwater on both sides. Followed by a 20 mile Bike Course, heading to St Davids before heading into Fishguard to transition into the 4 Mile sprint run course.

FAQs

  • Do I have to wear a wetsuit?

    Yes, this is mandatory for all of our events and must cover the torso & thighs. It must NOT cover the hands and feet.

  • Can I wear my own swim hat?

    If you wish to wear two swim hats that is fine but the issued swim hat MUST be worn on top.

  • What stroke can I use?

    Although BTF rules have now allowed backstroke we will not allow you to do this stroke. Front facing strokes only.

  • Can I use Tri Bars (aerobars)?

    Yes Tri Bars are allowed.

  • Can I wear headphones?

    No, we discourage anyone wearing headphones during the race

  • Is there a cut off?

    Yes, please refer to the Itinerary for all up to date times.

11am - 12.30pm Transition Open Fishguard Pier Car Park

1pm Challenge Wales Starts

1.35pm Sprint Distance Start

3.15pm Bike cut off Transition

4.30pm Last athlete finishes

Prize giving will be 5 minutes after top 3 male and female finishers cross the finish line.

Race briefing

We want to ensure the Fishguard Sprint Triathlon is an amazing day for all athletes! We also want to make sure that everyone competing knows exactly what’s happening, when it’s happening, and most importantly what you need to keep safe and have a great time!

In order to take part in the event you MUST bring Photo ID and a Signed Disclaimer to registration. It is also imperative that you watch the Video Briefing prior to the event.
