Nestled in the Ruhr metropolitan area of the northwestern German state, North Rhine-Westphalia, the city of Duisburg is perched at the confluence of the Rhine and Ruhr rivers. Home to the World's largest inland port, with 21 docks and 40 kilometres of wharf, the city has become a hotbed for cultural festivals, inspiring events, amusement parks, idyllic lake landscapes and now, Germany’s newest IRONMAN 70.3 race.
The swim is located on the regatta course of the Sportpark Duisburg. The bike leg takes you through the heart of the "Steel City" and the Ruhrgebiet, then turns back to the Sportpark Duisburg. The three-loop run takes athletes through the park-like landscape around Duisburg. Be ready to step on the big stage for your finish – it's located right inside the MSV Duisburg football stadium!
