IRONMAN Portugal - Cascais 2021
The nation of historic naval pioneers welcomes the World to Portugal’s second IRONMAN race, in the breathtaking Atlantic coastal town of Cascais. Historic houses, palaces, and fortresses of bygone times over one of the most beautiful race courses ever designed for a triathlon.
The swim starts at Ribeira Beach in Cascais and takes athletes around the protected bay of the village and all the way to the Fortaleza at Clube Naval. The bike course ( two loops) not only features the stunning sights of Portuguese Riviera and Guincho Beach Road but also the natural park of Sintra as well as an unique feature in all of IRONMAN: a short loop on the Formula 1 Circuit of Estoril! The three-loop run starts in Cascais and takes athletes once more along Guincho Road all the way to Cabo Raso and back to Cascais. Be ready for some serious goosebumps as spectators cheer on you all the way to the finish line!
