The new swim starts from West Mersea's Victoria Esplanade beach makes it easy for spectators to see the start, transition and finish all in one place. The cycle goes around smooth country roads, then the run is on road for the first half, before finishing onto the beach with the final 2.5k straight, where spectators gather to cheer each competitor back across the line.
