Organiser's Description

On Saturday, a fast and flat 5K road race through the historic market town of Newport Pagnell. On closed roads in front of thousands, you’ll be running ahead of the annual town Carnival Parade. The race finishes on the carnival meadow in the show arena where a day of entertainment and fun awaits you. On Sunday, a 1km kids race.

Bag drop-
A secure bag drop is available, although all items are left are your risk. Bags will be taken to the finish for collection on the meadow. You must show your race number to collect your belongings.

Parking

We would advise runners to walk to the start or get dropped off if possible to reduce traffic in the start area.

For anyone coming from outside town there will be ample parking a few minutes from the start line in Tongwell (details will be confirmed in your pre-race email).

There is limited parking at the finish on Riverside Meadow via Wellend Drive. Please do not park in the roads surrounding the meadow. Once you’ve enjoyed all the offerings of the Carnival event, its an easy 3K walk or jog back to the start and your vehicle.

The Course

You’ll start your run in Blakelands Business Park (off Tanners Drive). You’ll finish your 5K by following the path around the Carnival Meadow and into the main arena to cross the finish line.

The serious vs The fun one!

The Serious one!
Open to those aged 11 and above following UKA rules. No buggies, dogs or headphones are allowed. This is the ideal option for those looking to commit themselves to a serious 5K challenge and potential PB.

The ‘Serious’ One will kick off at 12pm.

Please note the ‘Serious’ 5K and the Family Fun run will have different results lists.

The Fun one!
Open to everyone to run, jog, walk, buggy push and enjoy! A fun way to take part in the Carnival 5K with your family and friends.

The family fun run 5K event will head off 10 minutes (12:10pm) after the first 5K event and will follow the same route.

Please note the ‘Serious’ 5K and the Family Fun run will have different results lists.

Children under 11 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

1k fun run

Open to all ages to run, jog, walk and enjoy our awesome 1K lap that will run along the Riverside meadow ! A fun way to take part in the Carnival weekend with your family and friends.
The run will start around 1pm. Children under 11 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Please note this race will not be chip timed and all finishers will receive a wooden medal.

covid-19 measures

Race packs will be posted out prior to the event, however we will have a registration tent at the Start line where you can collect a new race pack should yours not arrive before the day.

We ask that athletes wear the appropriate face coverings when collecting their race packs from registration and respect social distance guidelines when around the venue.

Very surprised with this event! The course is mostly flat at 12m elevation gain and the atmosphere was genuinely incredible!! Would highly recommend.
