This event will commemorate Remembrance Day and honour all those who gave their lives during World War 1. A flat trail marathon or half marathon run along the beautiful River Thames, starting rom the Xcel Leisure Centre, Waterside Drive, Walton on Thames, Surrey.
This event is built around a unique 'race freeze' at 11am, where at the sound of a horn blast all runners stop to observe the 2 minute silence, resuming their race at exactly 11.02am. This is not an event with a 2 minute silence put in it - this is a 2 minute silence with an entire marathon and half marathon event built around it. It is the very heart and soul of this event and the reason it exists. It is a very moving, spine tingling experience to be part of.
