Join us for the Ranscombe Winter Challenge on Saturday, February 1, 2020, in the picturesque setting of Rochester, Medway! This exciting event offers a unique opportunity to explore the stunning rural reserve while tackling rolling trails that showcase the beautiful wildflowers and wildlife of the area. Participants can enjoy the challenge of completing as many loops as they can within an eight-hour time limit, with each loop measuring between 3.7 and 4.4 miles.
On Saturday, runners will take on the classic Green Route, known for its hilly terrain, while on Sunday, February 2, the Random Ranscombe features the slightly flatter Red Route. Both days promise an adventurous experience, although expect some mud along the way! Every runner will receive a special medal, with Saturday's featuring the new Ranscombe medal series and Sunday's medals coming from a box of random designs. Organiser's Description
The Ranscombe Challenge doesn't quite fit in with our quest to bring you flat or mud free courses, but when you run around this beautiful rural reserve, on rolling trails amidst an array of wildflowers, wildlife and views over Kent and the Medway, you'll understand why we couldn't resist the detour! In fact the area is so pretty we thought we'd give you the opportunity to savour it for longer, and twice! This event has a time limit of eight hours to run as many of the 3.7 - 4.4 mile loops as you wish! It'll be February, it'll be hilly, it'll very likely involve some mud! Events 1 & 2 February.
On the Saturday we'll have the classic Green Route, the hillier of the two, and this will feature the first of the new Ranscombe medal series! On the Sunday we'll have a Random Ranscombe, with the Red Route, slightly flatter, probably less muddy, but it will likely still be muddy, and definitely still quite hilly!
