Rough Runner London North (Saturday)
Rough Runner is back in London! 6,000 Roughians nailed the Travelator last year at Finsbury, so we’re back to give another packed-out crowd the chance. Whether you’re new to Rough Runner or have been before, this is your chance to take on our epic obstacles in the heart of the City. We know of no other event which brings a range of obstacles so massive, so ambitious, and so much fun into the centre of the Capital.
We’ll be bringing the legendary Travelator with us, and giving you the opportunity to bring your favourite TV game show memories into reality. Inspired by shows like Total Wipeout, Gladiators, Takeshi’s Castle and Ninja Warrior, this is the only event that will give you the chance to take on a load of epic obstacles that you’ve only ever seen on screen.
2020 sees the introduction of new obstacles, a new kids' area, more food, drink, activities and entertainment in the Runners' Village, which will make for the best day out you’re likely to have all year! Do it now. Regret it never.
Wristband at the start
Medal at the finish
Free bag drop service
Free access to the event for spectators
Finsbury Park, Harringay, London N4
Finsbury Park Station is an intermodal interchange station. It is just a couple of minutes walk away from the venue, and is one of North London's busiest transport interchanges, with rail services meeting the London Underground and two interconnected bus stations.
By bus: 4, 19, 29, 106, 141, 153, 210, 236, 253, 254, 259, 279, 341, W3, W7
By tube: Finsbury Park (Piccadilly and Victoria Lines), Manor House (Piccadilly Line)
By train: Finsbury Park Overground
We don't offer car parking at our Finsbury event, there is simply not enough space! So don't drive! It’ll be tricky to find parking nearby, it’ll probably be expensive, and who wants to navigate weekend traffic in London anyway?
If you do need to drive there are parking options nearby, including at the Station. Charges will apply.
Minimum age for participants in the adult events is 16 yrs
Start times will be from 9am through to approx 3pm. We will advise you of your start time about 7 - 10 days prior to the event date.
Please arrive on site around 1 hour prior to your start time, to get yourself registered, set up and ready to run!
Bag drop: There’s a secure bag drop in the Runners’ Village, free of charge for participants. It is used at each participants’ own risk. We take no responsibility or liability for anyone’s belongings left in the bag drop.
Also, although it’s in a marquee the ground can become muddy, so don’t bring your Gucci hangbags or fancy gear! They may well get muddy!
Things you'll need to bring that you can’t race without:
- A print out of your ticket
- The Adult waiver – The Waiver!
- The Rough Rascals waiver (if applicable) Rascals Waiver!
- Photo ID
Cash: Cash is handy for food & drink as there are no ATMs on site or anywhere near.
Suitable clothing. This is up to you, but we strongly urge you to bring a towel and a fresh change of dry clothes! If it’s hot you’ll be sweaty, if it’s wet you’ll be muddy! Also gloves to use during the event (for all those nets and ropes).
You will get muddy, and so will your trainers, so don't wear anything you are particularly precious about!
Changing: We have changing facilities, but it’s basic – literally a marquee tent, one for men, and one for women. There’s nothing inside them – it’s not a 5* hotel!
The 5km is particularly good fun, with 10 obstacles geared towards having a laugh whilst still providing a challenge. But there’s no suffering here (we don’t like getting electrocuted either!) – you’re just going to get very wet.
And if you’re not built to run marathons, that’s fine too. The average running distance between 2 obstacles is only about 500m, so your stamina reserves don’t need to be endless!
Enjoy the fun, and the challenge, without the pain.
The 10km is our most popular course, with up to 15 unique obstacles (it’s not two laps of the 5km course – you’ll enjoy additional obstacles). Think Total Wipeout with a dash of Ninja Warrior…
The distance between each obstacle is around 500-1000m on average, so you’ll need a reasonable level of fitness if you plan on running the whole way.
A 1 mile courese featuring a set of 10 challenging but child-friendly obstacles, built for adventure-seeking kids! It’s the perfect obstacle run for kids from 7-12 years old.
Great for a family day out, and to get young Rascals out and about, enjoying the outdoors, interacting with other kids and building their confidence. Not just that, but you’ll tire them out so you can relax a little!
New for 2020, if you want leave your kids for an hour or two, you can drop them into the kids' zone, where qualified professionals will look after them whilst they enjoy an array of activities, such as Zorb balls, football, archery & dodgeball to name a few things.
First-hand event reviews from people who’ve been there, done that and got the breathable T-shirt, really help everyone choose their next event.
Write a review and you’ll be entered into a monthly draw to win a pair of running shoes of your choice from Pro:Direct Running.
