Rough Runner - London South (Saturday)
Rough Runner is heading back to South London to kick off 2020! Over 5000 Roughians smashed the course at our first event at Morden Park in 2019, so we’re heading back with an even bigger event for you. We’ll be bringing the legendary Travelator with us too! Inspired by TV game shows like Total Wipeout, Gladiators, Takeshi’s Castle and Ninja Warrior, this is the only event that will give you the chance to take on a load of epic obstacles that you’ve only ever seen on screen, and always wanted to try.
2020 sees the introduction of new obstacles, a new kids' area, more food, drink, activities and entertainment in the Runners' Village, which will make for the best day out you’re likely to have all year! Do it now. Regret it never.
Roughian Rascals is also back in 202. This is a 1 mile course designed specifically for adventure-seeking kids from 7 to 12 years old. And the bookable Rascals Retreat, suitable for ages 2+, features everything from soft play to Zorbing!

Morden Park, Morden, London SM4 5QU
By Road: The venue is accessed from the A24, a major road which runs from Clapham in South-West London, through the SW London suburbs, through Surrey, and on to Worthing in West Sussex. Coming from the M25, leave the motorway at Junction 9 and follow the A243 to the roundabout with the A24. Take the A24 heading towards London. Use postcode SM4 5QU for your Satnav.
By train: The venue is a few minutes from Morden underground station (14 minutes walk), as well as Morden South (6 minutes walk) and St Helier train stations (10 minutes walk). So no excuse if you don’t want to drive!
Peel House long stay car park on London Road, Morden (postcode SM4 5QU) is close to the venue. There is also parking nearby at Morden Station on Kenley Road, Morden (postcode SW19 3DW), and in Kenley Road Car Park (postcode SW19 3DW).
Minimum age for participants in the 5k and 10k events is 16 yrs
Start times will be from approx 9am through to approx 2pm. We will advise you of your start time about 7 - 10 days prior to the event date.
Please arrive on site around 1 hour prior to your start time, to get yourself registered, set up and ready to run!
Things you'll need to bring:
- A print out of your ticket, a signed waiver (here), and photo ID. You can’t race without!
- Cash for food and drinks on site - card payment machines can be temperamental
- Suitable clothing. This is up to you, but we'd suggest a warm change of clothes for after the event and gloves to use during (for all those nets and ropes). You will get muddy, and so will your trainers, so don't wear anything you are particularly precious about!
The easiest of all the courses. The 5km is particularly good fun, with 10 obstacles geared towards having a laugh whilst still providing a challenge. But there’s no suffering here (we don’t like getting electrocuted either!) – you’re just going to get very wet.
And if you’re not built to run marathons, that’s fine too. The average running distance between 2 obstacles is only about 500m, so your stamina reserves don’t need to be endless! Enjoy the fun, and the challenge, without the pain.
The 10km is our most popular course, with up to 15 unique obstacles (it’s not two laps of the 5km course – you’ll enjoy additional obstacles). Think Total Wipeout with a dash of Ninja Warrior…
The distance between each obstacle is around 500-1000m on average, so you’ll need a reasonable level of fitness if you plan on running the whole way!
Featuring a set of 10 challenging but child-friendly obstacles, built for adventure-seeking kids! It’s the perfect obstacle run for kids from 7-12 years old.
Great for a family day out, and to get young Rascals out and about, enjoying the outdoors, interacting with other kids and building their confidence. Not just that, but you’ll tire them out so you can relax a little!
Tf you want leave your kids for an hour or two, you can drop them into the Rascals Retreat, where qualified professionals will look after them whilst they enjoy an array of activities, such as zorb balls, football, archery & dodgeball.
First-hand event reviews from people who’ve been there, done that and got the breathable T-shirt, really help everyone choose their next event.
