Join us for the inaugural Newcastleton 10km Trail Race on Saturday 15th August 2026, organised by Run And Rideand set in the stunning trail network surrounding Rock UK Adventure Centre, Newcastleton.

Designed for runners who love getting off the beaten track, this fully off-road 10km route showcases some of the very best trails the area has to offer. Expect a fantastic mix of wide forest tracks, flowing singletrack, fun twists and turns through the trees, and a few technical downhill sections to keep things exciting.

Whether you're chasing a personal best, looking for a new trail running challenge, or simply want to enjoy a great day out in the Scottish Borders, this event is for you. The course will be fully marked, signed, and marshalled throughout, allowing you to focus on enjoying the trails and the atmosphere.

With no cut-off times, the Newcastleton 10km Trail Race welcomes everyone from experienced trail runners to those who prefer a run-walk approach. Take on the course at your own pace and enjoy the adventure.

Arrival:

Please follow the signage or Postcode TD9 0TY for Newcastleton. As you enter the village  look for "Event Signage" for parking. Signing on (look for signage) will be at at Rock UK which will be open from 8.00am. Parking costs just £1. We recommend that you arrive at this area at least 30 minutes before the start of the event. Spend some time and warm up before the start and make sure you wear suitable clothing for mixed conditions. The start area can get quite windy so a windproof jacket and full length bottoms are recommended.

What To Wear For The Event:

Newcastleton in August can bring anything from warm sunshine to cool, wet conditions, with temperatures typically ranging from around 10–17°C and the possibility of rain at any time. We recommend wearing trail running shoes with good grip, lightweight technical running clothing, and carrying a light waterproof jacket if the forecast looks unsettled. Trail conditions can vary, so be prepared for mud, puddles, and changing weather on the day.

Other Information:

Prize presentation will take place around 30 minutes after the 3rd placed runner from each category has crossed the line.

Race Numbers

We will not be sending out race numbers prior to the event. This helps us keep down the cost of the entry. Please arrive with enough time (we recommend at least 1hr before your event start) to sign on. Signing on will be open at 8.30am (at Rock UK) to give everybody time to get sorted well before the start time. At signing on you'll need to find your name against your correct category and sign your name.

- You may trade your entry for a Transfer Credit at a cost of £1.00 until 08/08/2026.
- You will have 12 months (from the date of the event) to spend your Transfer Credit. 

Refunds

- You may Refund yourself the entry cost less £5.00 until 01/08/2026.
