  • How do I get to the start location?

You can travel by car, public transport, or walk to Cheltenham Racecourse.

  • What do I need to bring with me to the race day?

All you need is your race number attached to your running top to race.

  • How old do I have to be to enter the half marathon?

You must be at least 17 years old on race day to participate in the Half Marathon.

  • How old do I have to be to enter the 10K?

You must be at least 15 years old on race day to participate in the 10K.

  • Can I get a refund if I change my mind about racing?

Runners are entitled to a full refund within the first 7 days of purchase. After this period, there are no refunds

  • Can I transfer my place to a friend?

Yes, for a fee of £10. It is against race rules to swap your bib number with any other runner outside of our official transfer service. Each bib number has unique emergency contact and health details attached digitally, so swaps lead to medical teams working off incorrect information on the day which can have serious consequences – including invalidating insurance. Systems are in place to monitor this and those found to be swapping numbers will be banned from all Run Cheltenham events.

  • What will I receive before the race?

Physical race packs containing your running number with timing chip attached will be posted out in the weeks leading up to the event. Participants will also receive a digital event guide with final instructions during August.

  • Can I defer my entry to a later event?

Yes, for an admin fee of £10. You can only be deferred once per entry.

  • Can I sign up on the day?

No, unfortunately it is not possible to sign up on the day.

In planning the event every effort is made to minimise the disruption caused with the closing of roads to ensure the safety of participants and spectators. Where closures occur, and where possible, diversions will be in place to ensure continued access around the town for motorists and public transport.

Here you will find a representative map showing the race route. It also includes the areas that will be affected by closures and the closure timings. Please check the location of your property to see how your road and the surrounding area will be affected. This will also assist you in making decisions about the best way of travelling around the area on Sunday 1st September.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but to ensure the safety of runners and event staff, there can be no vehicle access or movement onto or along the route itself during the scheduled road closure times.

Residents living directly on, or with secured parking off, any of the above roads, who need to use their cars on Sunday 1st September between the scheduled road closure times should use alternative parking on nearby roads or car parks away from the roads affected. Please do not leave your vehicle parked on the route itself.

As there can be no vehicle access anywhere along the route, businesses are advised to consider re-arranging

deliveries to arrive before the scheduled closure times or after the scheduled reopening times

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Good race and nice route but due to the heat, they could have done with more water stations. Great support around the town, real community spirit helping you along, but the last mile for 10k is really rough as it takes you into and partially around the racecourse where there's little support. This part should be first as you need the support towards the end so must have been enough tougher for the half milers! The organisers have sent an apology and are asking for feedback so hopefully some of these will improve for next year.

Well organised race and nice route down into cheltenham and back to the racecourse. The last mile and a half are super tough round the racecourse and the head wind didn’t help
