Blackpool "Run the Lights" Illuminations 10k & 5k

The race starts in the heart of Blackpool and follows a scenic route along the Promenade, passing iconic landmarks such as the Blackpool Tower, the Pleasure Beach, and the lively amusement arcades. As the sun begins to set, the town's renowned Illuminations come to life, illuminating the course with a spectacular display of lights, colours, and animations.

The accurately measured 10k & 5k courses are suitable for runners of all abilities. Whether you're a seasoned athlete aiming for a personal best or a beginner looking to challenge yourself, the event caters to participants of every level. The route is flat and fast, offering the potential for achieving impressive race times.

When you book a place at the Run the Lights 10k & 5k, you can expect a comprehensive and enjoyable experience from start to finish.

Prior to the event, participants will receive a detailed race pack containing essential information, including the race route, event schedule, and tips for race day preparation.

On the day of the event, you can anticipate a well-organised and welcoming atmosphere. Runners will be provided with a high-quality race bib, personalised with their name and pre-attached chip timing tag.

There will be ample parking and clear signage to guide you to the start line.

Participants will have access to baggage storage too.

Throughout the race, there will be strategically placed water stations, as well as enthusiastic volunteers offering support and encouragement. After crossing the finish line, runners will receive a commemorative blingtastic medal.

Anyone can register as long as you are over 15 on the day of the event (10k).
Anyone can register as long as you are over 11 on the day of the event (5k).
​Whether you run, walk, jog or crawl you can join us on the night. Nordic walkers, buggy users, wheelchair users and power walkers are all welcome.

The event is staged from Blackpool's Middle Walkway, which is the road parallel to the main promenade opposite the Grand and Imperial hotels. The nearest postcode is FY1 2JQ.

The event venue facilities are open from 6.00pm. Remember, we don't have time limits on our events so there is no need to worry about anything closing down! Just concentrate on enjoying your run.
