The Salomon Ring of Steall Skyrace™, organised by Ourea Events, is a thrilling mountain race set to take place on Saturday 21st September 2019 in Inverness, Highland. This 29km race with a challenging 2,500m ascent offers runners spectacular views of Ben Nevis from the Mamores, including sections of easy scrambling. Following the Skyrunning tradition, participants will tackle steep ascents, traverses, and descents on technical terrain, including the Devil's Ridge with breathtaking drops and views of Glen Nevis and Ben Nevis. The Ring of Steall Skyrace™ follows in the tradition of Skyrunning, which consists of uncompromising mountain running along mountain ridges with steep ascents, traverses and descents on technical and challenging terrain.
This Skyrunning race route incorporates two lofty ridges within the Mamores, including the Devil’s Ridge, which provides a thrilling and airy traverse with Glen Nevis visible ahead and as a yawning drop far below, and Ben Nevis beyond and towering above.
Our race route is set within the Mamores, which are an East - West series of majestic Munros (Scottish Mountains over 3,000ft / 914m) and in this route there are four that will be summited. The Ring of Steall Skyrace™ is set to become a classic Skyrunning event.
