Sandridge 10k

We start and finish in the village at Sandridge Primary School playing field.

The 10k is a TRAIL run – predominantly off road on paths and woodland terrain. Please be aware of trip hazards and uneven footing.

A route map will be made available closer to the run date.

There will be physical route markings out on race day and marshals stationed along the course.

Route: The 10k is a TRAIL run – predominantly off road on paths and woodland terrain. Please be aware of trip hazards and uneven footing.

A route map will be made available closer to the run date.

There will be physical route markings out on race day and marshals stationed along the course.

Belongings: There will be a unmanned gazebo location where you can leave items but do not leave mobile phones or valuables.

The start and finish will be through the Active Training World arch, where food and drink stands will be available. If you start the race but choose not to complete it, you must inform a marshal so we know not to expect you at the finish.

Chip timing: This is a chip timed event – be sure to wear your race bib with the chip attached, drop it in the recycling box at the finish, then log on and check out where you came on the leader board.

Medals: Runners have the option at registration to choose one of our Sandridge 10k bespoke wooden medals or to have the value of your medal donated towards planting a tree or our official charities.

Music: You are welcome to listen to your own music as you run but do bear in mind this is a ‘live’ route – you will be responsible for your own safety. There will be a couple of marshalled points and a some country road running, so if you do wear headphones please make sure you are able to hear your environment and any instructions being given to you.

Water: There will be a water station available on the route with water provided in recyclable cups. Please dispose of any used cups in one of the bins provided so we don’t litter the beautiful countryside! You can of course bring your own water with you to have during the run.

First aid: Qualified first aiders will be available around the course and at Race HQ for the duration of the event within our planned event times.

Photography: Sandridge 10k reserves the right to use any photograph/video taken without the expressed written permission of those included within the photograph/video.

Images/Videos may be used in future press releases, printed publicity and posted on any social media platform associated with Sandridge 10k.

Sandridge 10k may use the photograph/video in publications or other media including but not limited to: printed press, newspapers, magazines, television, websites, social media platforms etc. A drone capturing footage may be used on the day.

Anyone attending the Sandridge 10k event who does not wish to have their image recorded for distribution should make their wishes known to the event organisers.

By participating in a Sandridge 10k event or by failing to notify Sandridge 10k, you are agreeing to release and withhold any claims involving the use of your picture or likeness.

UKA Anti-Doping: All entrants shall be deemed to have made him/herself/themselves familiar with and agreed to be bound by the UKA Anti-Doping Rules and to submit to the authority of UK Anti-Doping in the application and enforcement of the Anti-Doping Rules.

The UKA Anti-Doping Rules apply to entrants participating in the sport of Athletics, for 12 months from the date of entry, whether or not the entrant is a citizen of, or resident in, the UK.

Can I withdraw from the race?
Of course you can, however you will not be reimbursed your entrance fee.

Can I transfer my place to another runner?
Yes, up to 7 days before the race. Please refer back to your registration email for details of how to transfer your place.

Can I wear headphones?

Can I bring my dog to run with me?
No, sorry. The race starts on Sandridge School grounds, and that is a dog-free space.

Can I submit a postal entry?
Unfortunately, we are unable to process postal entries. All runners must enter online.

Can I enter on the day?
Entries will close at 9am on the 13th September, or when we reach capacity.

Are there shower facilities?
Sorry, no.

Can I walk the 10k?
Yes, by all means walkers are permitted to enter. If you are walking, please stand aside for runners in narrower sections.

Are there any age restrictions?
10k entrants must be 16 years old or over on race day.

What does the entry fee include?
Alongside a great sense of achievement, the 10k runners can choose to receive one of our Sandridge 10k wooden medals or donate the value of their medal towards either Sandridge School or planting a tree.

Planting a tree is one of the very best things you can do for the environment. They suck excess carbon dioxide (the main driver of climate change) out of the air, provide a home for a huge number of species and give us clean air to breath.

Will there be bag drop off facilities?
There will be a designated but non secure drop off spot – all items left at runners own risk.

What if the event is cancelled?
If we are unable (for whatever reason) to run on race day as planned, the event will default to become entirely virtual and you will be asked to run where you are, submitting your evidence via email and receiving your medal through the post (or email as planned about tree). Refunds will not be offered
