Taking on a ‘COVID proof’ new look, the event will see runners starting and finishing in the village to complete a GPS tracked audio guided route through the beautiful countryside surrounding Sandridge.
In line with government guidelines on race day*, runners will be required to sign up to allocated staggered start times ahead of the event. Medals will be awarded on completion.
NB - If we are under a local or national lockdown, the event will revert to being entirely virtual as per 2020.

The 10k route is a TRAIL run – predominantly off road on paths and woodland terrain. Please be aware of trip hazards and uneven footing.
This is a ‘live’ route and given the nature of the event, runners may encounter walkers, cyclists, horse riders and other members of the public. Please respect social distancing and be aware you may be required to give way. The Sandridge10k is a scenic rather than PB course!
There will be limited physical route markings out on race day, course guidance will come via the audio guided GPS app (ROYO – downloadable from your app store) for which you will be given sign up details prior to the event. You will need to have the app running throughout your race.
Marshals will be stationed at points where trail intersects with road. All runners need to be aware there may be live traffic and should engage road safety sense at all times.
How Does It Work?
Our virtual event uses ROYO - run a real life course designed by the Sandridge 10k team with GPS tracking and personalised audio guidance.
Close to event day you will be sent an access code where you can log into the app and run at whichever time on that day you like.
When: Sunday 12th September 2021.
Why: For health, for fun, for the children of Sandridge Primary School.
With whom: This year we are introducing a GPS audio guided app for all runners to use. The app will give you audio instructions as you run around our scenic 10k route.
We would LOVE nothing more than to be running together and encouraging competitive sprint finishes, however, the app enables us to still run competitively as it tracks your run via GPS and produces a live results board of all runners, so this year THERE WILL BE WINNERS!!
We will be staggering the starts in line with government guidelines on race day (this may be 1 or any number of runners starting at any one time), we ask you stick to government advice and run only with others if it is safe to do so.
All runners will be asked to sign up to a start time ahead of the event.
Music: Yes! You are able to start your playlist prior to hitting ‘GO’ on your ROYO app – your music will fade in and out when a route instruction needs to be given.
Water: Hydrate well before your run and look forward to a cool drink when you finish, or take a bottle with you to have on route. There will be no water stations on route.
Chip timing: There is no chip timing BUT accurate GPS timing will be recorded via the ROYO race app which will provide your audio guidance. This will provide a real time leader board. So, go on, challenge yourself…and a friend…
Medals: YES! Our beautiful bespoke wooden medals will be awarded to all finishers of both the 10k and family fun run events.
We are crossing our fingers and toes that (covid permitting) we will be able to set up Race HQ at one of the pubs in the village again so we can award your medals on the day and have a (socially distanced) drink with you after your run.
For those who are further afield, we will gladly post your medal to you once we receive evidence of your tracked run.
Race numbers: Runners following the audio guided route will be asked to wear a running number with health and safety information completed on the reverse. These will be sent to you as a PDF which you will need to download, print off and attach to your running top.
First aid: Qualified first aiders will be mobile around the course on bikes for the duration of the event within our planned event times.

Can I withdraw from the race?
Of course you can, however you will not be reimbursed your entrance fee.
Can I transfer my place to another runner?
Yes, up to 7 days before the race. Please refer back to your registration email for details of how to transfer your place.
Can I wear headphones? Yes, please do so you can hear the course instructions! Why not put together a great playlist to enjoy too?
Can I bring my dog to run with me? No, sorry. No dogs if you are running the course set out by us.
Yes, of course if you are running your own route at your own time (as long as the area you are running in allows dogs!)
Can I submit a postal entry?
Unfortunately, we are unable to process postal entries. All runner must enter online.
Can I enter on the day?
Entries will close 12pm 11th September, (or when we reach capacity)
Are there shower facilities? Sorry, no.
Is there a time cut off for running? First aiders and Race HQ will be available from the first start time to 1hour after the last start time.
Can I walk the 10k? Yes, by all means walkers are permitted to enter. If you are walking, please stand aside for runners in narrower sections.
Are there any age restrictions?
10k entrants must be 16 years old or over on race day.
What does the entry fee include?
Runners will receive a wooden medal, a great sense of achievement and a 10% discount code for the 2022 Sandridge10k. 100% of the profit is going to Sandridge Primary School charity no 298754.
Will there be bag drop off facilities?
No, sorry, please leave your bags at home or take a family member along to hold it for you.
What if the event is cancelled? If we are unable (for whatever reason) to run on race day as planned, the event will default to become entirely virtual and you will be asked to run where you are, submitting your ‘evidence’ via email and receiving your medal through the post. Refunds will not be offered.
