On Saturday, September 4th, 2021, Pwllheli, Gwynedd will come alive as participants tackle a demanding 115km race filled with stunning scenery and unforgettable challenges. The event kicks off on the golden sands of Abersoch beach with a refreshing 1.5k sea swim in the picturesque bay. Athletes will then embark on a thrilling 50k bike ride, navigating the diverse terrain of the Snowdon Massif.

The highlight of this incredible race is the ascent of Wales' highest mountain, Snowdon, via the tough Watkin Path. Competitors will conquer a formidable 6k climb, gaining 3,330ft to reach the summit, where they'll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views. The journey continues with a 6k descent, followed by a return bike ride and a final 1k run along the beach to the finish line. Join us for this extraordinary triathlon experience that showcases the best of Wales' landscape and challenges athletes to push their limits!

Organiser's Description

A demanding 115km race rich in challenges and crammed full of inspiring terrain. Starting on Abersoch beach, reaching the summit of Snowdon and back, The ROC showcases the best triathlon arena Wales and its breathtaking landscape has to offer.

Commencing on the golden sands of Abersoch beach the race starts with a 1.5k sea swim in the villages idyllic bay before heading off on a 50k fast and progressively undulating bike route into the Snowdon Massif. The race then heads on foot via the toughest route up Wales’ highest mountain along The Watkin Path, 6k and 3,330ft of formidable ascent to the summit, where you can absorb those exceptional panoramic views, before heading 6k back down, 50k return cycle, culminating with a 1k run along Abersoch beach before crossing the finish line.
