The Sandman Triathlon is the third and final race in the Always Aim High 'Suunto Adventure Triathlon Series'. The venue is incredible Newborough Forest, with the start and finish set in an exclusive area within the 700ha woods, adjacent to the World famous Llanddwyn Beach in Anglesey, where the swim takes place.

This event is one of the most beautiful and iconic coastal triathlons in the world. It has something for all abilities: the incredible Legend 72.4, Savage, Classic and Sprint triathlons, and the Sandman Duathlon, for those who don't fancy open water swimming. Relay options in the full and sprint triathlon distances. Also children's event. 14/15 September.

Main Car Park, Newborough Forest, Anglesey

The main car park for the beach is at the end of a narrow lane that leads from the cross-roads in the centre of Newborough village (between the cafe and the pub). The postcode LL61 6SG will bring you to the right road. It’s about a mile from the village to the edge of the forest where you will (usually) have to pay a £5 toll. This allows you to continue driving for another mile or so on the forest road to the beach car park.

In order to give athletes the best and safest experience the access road to the main beach car park will be closed off for most of the day for non-participants.

You may want to share a ride with family and supporters. Once the entrance is closed, spectators and supporters are able to park off site and walk or cycle in.

Registration will be at the main car park in Newborough Forest (Closest postcode is LL61 6SG and then follow signs for the beach).

Car parking will be at the main car park at Newborough Forest, there is limited availability at the car park on race days. Over flow will be on some of the roads surrounding the car park and at temporary parking on the way in (this will be sign posted and marshalled). Please arrive as early as possible as the roads into the car park close just before race start.

The toll road and vehicular access to the on site car parks will close at 08:00 on both Saturday and Sunday

If you wish to be off site before 11:15 on Saturday or 14:00 on Sunday you will need to park off site

All competitors and spectators will need to be in the car parks before the road closes. The toll road will re-open at approximately 11:15 on Saturday and 14:00 on Sunday.

An online entry will be considered as an acceptance of governing body rules. British triathlon rule book is here.

Competitors will compete in the triathlon event comprising of a swim in open water, cycle on road and run cross country entirely at their own risk.

We cannot allow any accompanying dogs, unless for reasons of registered disability.

Age Limits: Competitors must be 17 or over to enter and take part in the full tri and 15 or over for the sprint tri

Event organisers are able to amend the course route at any time and without prior notification.

Wearing of wetsuits for the swim discipline will be mandatory.

Littering - our policy on littering can be found here. Any irresponsible littering will result in disqualification.

This is a no drafting event. Draft busters will be monitoring the cycle, competitors breaking this rule will be awarded a time penalty.

I declare that I will abide to the governing bodies rules and that I am fit to take part in the event. I will not hold the race organiser respsonsible for any injury or loss. I understand that the final decision as to whether or not the race will go ahead on the day is that of the race organisers "Always Aim High Triathlon Club" only.
