Runners of all levels will have the chance to explore stunning views of the iconic Ironbridge Gorge while enjoying a variety of race distances: 8 miles for those seeking a single lap adventure, 16 miles for the more ambitious with two laps, and a full marathon distance of 26.2 miles for seasoned athletes ready to tackle three laps.
Participants will be treated to a scenic route that highlights the rich history of Ironbridge and Jackfield, all while navigating the picturesque paths of the Silkin Way. As you conquer the climbs and soak in the beautiful surroundings, you'll earn some fantastic bling to commemorate your achievement. After crossing the finish line, reward yourself with delicious ales and hearty pub grub to refuel and celebrate your hard-earned accomplishments. Organiser's Description
Due to the Sun still being closed, The Shindig in the Shire is still on tour and will be starting in Telford from The Unicorn Inn, where runners will enjoy views of the Ironbridge Gorge, taking in the workld famous bridge and run through the local history of Ironbridge and Jackfield, before returning on the Silkin way.
Beautiful views, amazimg paths, a few climbs and great bling will be the reward for those tackling this wonderful route. Delicious ales and pub grub will be on hand afterwards to refuel your aching bodies.
8 Miles 1 Lap, 16 Miles 2 Laps and 26.2 Miles 3 laps.
Fingers crossed we can return to Corfton next year!
