This Aquathlon will take place from the newly-refurbished Furzefield Leisure Centre.
The race will include chip timing to give you accurate results and split times. The event is suitable for both complete novices and experienced triathletes.
The swim will be in the 33m pool and the spectator friendly run route is entirely traffic free, through the playing fields and woods behind the Leisure Centre.
Distance for adults and juniors.

Day Licenses

Members of Triathlon England / BTF home nations must show an up to date race licence, if you are not a member of British Triathlon you will need to purchase a BTF day licence costing £3.00 seniors and £1.00 juniors, if you do not show your TE licence when registering at the event you will be required to purchase a day licence costing £5 and £3 respectively to cover administration costs.

Race Distances & Age Groups

The seniors (15+) race will cover a 400m (12 length) swim and a 5K two lap run

Tristars from 9 years (minimum age) will cover a range of distances from a 100m swim and 1.6K run (9 - 10 years) to 200m swim and 2.4K run (11 - 14 years)

15 year olds and over have the option of the 200m / 2.4K race or the senior 400m swim and 5K run.

Registration & Event Timings

REGISTRATION - Will be open from 8.00am for seniors and close promptly at 8.45am. Junior registration is from 9.00am until 9.45am. Please arrive in plenty of time, you will not be allowed to race if you miss registration.

RACE BRIEFING – 8.45am seniors / 9.45am juniors - The race briefing will take place beside the transition area. Attendance is compulsory. The race briefing will inform you of any last minute route changes and safety points. If you have any questions or queries on race day, please ask them after the Race Briefing.

RACE START / SWIM – 9.00am seniors / 10.00am juniors - The swim will be a "snake" style swim, your start time will be based on your estimated swim time, please enter a realistic swim time on the registration form so that we can avoid mixing slow and fast swimmers. You will line up along the side of the pool ready to start under the gudance of the swim director, all competitors must be on poolside for the start of the swim.

TRANSITION AREA - You will be required to set up your transition area prior to the event starting. The transition area will be open from 8.00am. The area will be separated into senior and junior sections.

What's Included

All finishers will receive a medal.

We will provide overall 1st, 2nd, 3rd man and woman trophies and age group prizes in in junior and senior bands.

Location

The will be held at the Furzefield Leisure Centre in Potters Bar, EN6 3BW map here. The swim will be in the 33m indoor pool and the run will be entirely within the centre's grounds and woodland.

Course Details

The run course is fully marshalled and follows a relatively flat off road course within the centre's playing fields. Seniors will run 2 laps for a total of 5K, juniors (11-15) will run 3 laps of a shorter course making 2.4K in total, juniors (9-10) will run 2 laps for 1.6K. Ordinary running shoes are advised, spikes are NOT allowed.
