Natural History Museum - Virtual Race for Nature

Mon 31st August 2020

Two people in lion costumes run in a park on a paved pathway, while two individuals in inflatable T-Rex dinosaur costumes stand nearby. The background features trees and green grass under a clear sky. The scene is vibrant and playful. A dual map route in Hyde Park, London, with paths outlined in red on a digital map. The left map shows a route resembling a dinosaur shape, while the right map outlines a shape similar to a swan. Both routes encompass green park areas and a central lake.

Organiser's Description

Join the virtual Race for Nature and raise money for a future where the people and the planet can both thrive.

Complete the Race for Nature in your local habitat. Instead of a dash to the finish line, see what creatures you can draw with the mapped path of your route. Run, walk, jog or wheel and see what you can create.

Before you head out, take a look at a map of your local area, look out for paths or roads that look like part of an animal or plant. Start with something easy, a snake will be much easier to create than a platypus! Take an outline of the animal you would like to create with you, so you can use it as a reference.

The event is free to enter and there will be prizes for those who hit our fundraising targets. Every step you take, each animal you create, and each £1 you raise, helps protect our planet!
