It's time for Plan B

Plan A’s out the window. Welcome to Plan B. For anyone (everyone?!) who’s had their life turned upside-down in the last couple of weeks and is need of a little motivation keep active while we battle a certain virus.

We launched Plan B in mid March. Coronavirus was just reaching Europe. All the Spring races were being scrubbed, leaving hundreds of thousands of runners with months of winter training behind them and no finish line to aim for.

A silver lining was needed. Enter Plan B. A Virtual Challenge anyone, anywhere could take part in. Coronavirus-proof motivation to keep you active and raise funds for the WHO. And thanks to everyone spreading the word, Plan B’s had over 1,200 entries so far and raised more than £10k in a week.

However, since launch, the situation's changed. Social distancing is in, elbow-bumping is out (maybe time for a medal re-design 🙈). And in the UK we’re all restricted to one walk or run a day. Plan B is now finding a wider audience: anyone looking for a way to keep motivated and active through this time, whilst also raising funds to fight COVID-19. If that’s you, welcome onboard!

All profits to the W.H.O.

All profits will go to the World Health Organisation's COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

What is the PLAN B Virtual Challenge?

PLAN B Virtual Challenge is a great way to stay motivated, get a great medal and do some good. 100% of the profits go to charity.

How does the charity donation work?

All profits from the virtual race will go to the World Health Organisation's COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. If you want to raise any additional money during your running that would be even better.

Is there a start date?

No. You can start your challenge as soon as you've entered.

Is there a deadline?

You can do one-off challenges anytime you like before the end of April. If you're doing a challenge with a cumulative total, the distance (or minutes) need to be completed by 30 April 2020.

What’s the difference between a distance challenge and a race distance?

The distance challenges are for a cumulative distance in the time period and a race distance has to be completed in one go. Depending on your goals you can choose which works best for you.

What's a stay at home challenge?

We've introduced stay at home challenges that mean you can complete your exercise challenge without leaving the house. Just choose your target time for exercise and complete it any way you want, with any exercise.

What do I have to do to sign up?

Super easy! Just choose the distance or time challenge that you want and enter your details. Once you've signed up we will keep you informed throughout the challenge. All you need to do is complete your challenge by the deadline specified, upload your evidence and then your medal will be sent out in the post.

What do you mean by race evidence?

To get the medal we need to know you completed the challenge. We can take evidence in many forms; a photo of the distance on your watch/treadmill, a screenshot from any one of the running apps, an excel sheet you use to log your runs, a photo of you doing your home workout. We're the believing type so if you tell us you've done it, we trust you.

How do I upload my evidence?

Before the end of the time period we will send an email with a link for you to upload the evidence on Upload your evidence there and if you have any problems just give us a shout.

Where can I get information on the races I’ve entered?

We will send an email with all the information for your race and another to let you know to send over the evidence. If you have any questions at all just get in touch

Who can enter a virtual challenge?

Everyone! We suggest that anyone under 18 should complete the distance/time under supervision. By entering a FAR virtual race you agree that any injury or damage caused by completing your race / challenge is your own responsibility. FIND A RACE Ltd accepts no responsibility for any damage or injury occurring during completing a race / challenge. Please see our terms and conditions for more information.

When will I get my medal?

As soon as the time period finishes we will send out a medal to everyone who has completed their challenge. It may take up a to a week to receive the medal, hopefully a lot sooner :)
