Industry check-in

Last month we asked Race Organisers to complete a short survey to give a sense of how the market is faring. The responses paint a picture of an industry facing some serious challenges over the coming months.

The headline is that only 60% of event organisers reported a high level of confidence that they'd survive into 2022. More than 75% reported a drop in entry numbers, with many seeing a rise in venue hire and other fixed costs.

The uncertainty is impacting event organiser's motivation as much as runner's motivation, summed up by Chloe at Loveswimrun, "It's very hard to plan events and put a lot of work into organisation when you feel things are likely to be cancelled again!"

Whilst it's clear the uncertainty's going nowhere, today's unlocking represents a huge opportunity to start rebuilding public confidence in mass-participation events.

So today we're launching a social campaign aimed at raising awareness of how safe events are and reminding runners of how much we've missed the buzz of the race day experience.

Please help spread the word by sharing the campaign with your audiences. Find out more about it here:
