BEYOND CAMINO TREK
The French Way is the most popular of the routes of the Way of St. James, the ancient pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain, our route is the last 115km from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela.
THE JOURNEY OF THE CAMINO TREK
We think the trip is about more than just Santiago de Compostela so we will take our time during the day and enjoy all that is around us.
There may be time for sightseeing around our destinations in the late afternoon/evenings, with so many old buildings and beautiful churches to look at, it will just enhance the experience of the trip, travel to these sites will be included but entrances fee's may be payable.
Or you can choose to sit in the sun and enjoy the local wine.
AN APPROXIMATE ITINERARY:
Day 1: Arrive Sarria and overnight stay. (Wednesday June 29th)
Day 2: Walk to Portomarin, 22 km (Thursday June 30th)
Day 3: Walk to Palas de Rei, 25 km (Friday July 1st)
Day 4: Walk to Arzua, 29.5 km (Saturday July 2nd)
Day 5: Walk to Rua, 18 km (Sunday July 3rd)
Day 6: Walk to Santiago de Compostela, 22.5 km (Monday July 4th)
(An evening meal and a few glasses of something lovely to celebrate our achievements)
Day 7: Onward travel (Tuesday July 5th)
If you are flying from Gatwick (UK) , the flights only leave and return on a Wednesday, so you will be staying in Santiago a further day.
Day 8:Onward travel (Wednesday July 6th)
Or you can choose to spend a few more days in Santiago de Compostela.
INCLUDED
- 6/7 Nights’ accommodation in small rural hotels and hostels
- 5 Breakfasts.
- Baggage Transfers ( During the event only )
- A detailed information pack including route notes, maps and local information.
- Guidebook including detailed maps.
- Emergency support from our local team who will be walking and supporting you along the route
EXCLUDED
- Travel to Sarria and from Santiago back to your home country (We can arrange transfers in spain at 20 euro P/P).
- Evening meals, Lunches, snacks or drinks.
- Travel Insurance.
- Personal Equipment.
- Taxi transfers or public transport should you need to miss a stage.
TRAVEL TO THE START LOCATION:
It is your responsibility to ensure you are at the start location for this experience.
This is in Sarria, Beyond Events do not organize your travel from Santiago to Sarria, although we can assist with transfers if required. (Fee applicable)
TRIP COST’S:
The total cost of the trip is £673.00 ( Including all the booking fee's ).
The initial payment through this webpage is a deposit of £100 (Plus the booking fee) this will then secure your place.
Further payments are due in staged intervals or you can pay the balance in full.

If there is a need to book flights, ferries or additional travel please contact us BEFORE you do this, the experiences have a limited number of entrants needed for the experience to take place, we will not be held responsible for any additional costs incurred booking these addition travel arrangements.

ACCOMODATION INFORMATION:
It may be difficult to find rooms that you will have to yourself, this can be done but will include extra costs (single supplement).
Unless otherwise stated you will be sharing a room and sometimes you may be in a dormitory of three (All of the same gender).
This is a very last resort we try very hard to ensure twin rooms, with single beds, this is not always possible in remote locations.
If you’re coming with a friend or a companion to share the experience with, we will room you together if you inform us first.
