Where is the start and finish of the race?
The race starts and finishes at Park Farm, Compton Verney in Warwickshire. The postcode for the venue's car park will be issued nearer to the time of the event (what3words locator is: ///boast.departure.guises).
Is the course on grass or tarmac?
The bike and run routes are mostly flat but with some inclines for interest and a challenge. The routes are all on grass and within the event field. A plan of the routes will be included above once confirmed
The event is sold out, can my child go on to a wait list?
Yep, absolutely! Once the event is full you should see an option to join a wait list. Payment is taken when you go on the list but it's refunded if you don't get a spot.
Can I cancel my child's place?
Unfortunately, there are no refunds offered on the Compton Verney kids' triathlon
Is my child's entry transferable to a friend?
Yes, it is. Please email your request through to [email protected]
Can I change my child's individual entry to a relay entry?
Yes you can, please email your request through to [email protected] as there may be an additional charge to cover costs
Can I change my child's relay entry to an individual entry?
Yes you can, please email us at [email protected]
Can I change the members in my child's relay team?
Yes, you can. Changes can be made up to 7 days before the event. Please email [email protected] with the old team members’ names as well as the new team members’ names and we’ll organise this for you
Do children have to wear a wetsuit?
We follow the temperature guidance set by British Triathlon. It is expected that children will wear wetsuits. Please ensure your child's wetsuit is close fitting, as baggy wetsuits will be hard to swim in and won't keep them warm
Can we camp on the event site?
We are hoping to be able to offer on-site camping. More information will be available soon
How will I receive my child's race pack and when will it arrive?
Your race guide will be sent to you via email. The race pack containing your child's number, chip, swim hat etc will be picked up at registration
Can I request a wave start so my child can race with their friends?
Please email your request through to [email protected] and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. Racers will enter the water according to their swim speed, with faster swimmers going first.
When can I register my child?
Ideally you need to register the night before your race. The opening times for the registration desk will be confirmed closer to event day. If your child is a British Triathlon member they must show their BTF card at registration. If they’re participating as part of a relay team only one member of the team needs to register but s/he must bring BTF cards for each team member where applicable
Will my child need trail shoes if the run is off-road?
The run course will all be on grass which is normally firm underfoot, so they should be fine in normal trainers
Can my child try the run course before the race?
The run course is on privately owned land, to which there is no access prior to race day. There is a bridleway which runs through the same field, but please stick to the route of the right of way if you visit prior to race day. Please note that there is no parking at Park Farm, except for registration during the evening of Friday 21st July, and during the events on Saturday 22nd July and Sunday 23rd July
Are there changing and transition tents?
Unfortunately not. Your child should keep all of their race equipment at their racking point. They should only bring one small bag to keep at the racking point and leave all other belongings in a vehicle, or with their support team. There will be no bag drop/area
Are there cut-off times for each section?
There are no cut off times for the Compton Verney kids' triathlon
Can my child use headphones?
No, in line with British Triathlon rules headphones and bone conducting head sets are not permitted
Are there food and hydration stations on the run and bike courses?
For the kids' race, children will need to carry, or leave in transition, any nutrition and hydration they need during the event.
There will be snacks and water at the the finish for them and catering stand(s) offering food and drink after the event
Can we bring our dog?
Well behaved dogs on a lead will be welcomed. Please ensure that any mess is bagged and binned.
