Get ready for the Evolve Half Triathlon, taking place on Sunday, August 16, 2020, in the picturesque Doncaster, North Yorkshire! This exciting event promises a thrilling challenge for athletes of all levels, featuring a refreshing 2k swim in the stunning Blue Lagoon at Womersley. Participants will then embark on a scenic 90k bike ride, consisting of two 45k loops that showcase the beautiful and tranquil countryside of Mid Yorkshire. Rounding off the day is a two-loop 20k run along the peaceful roads surrounding the Blue Lagoon. Although the distances are slightly adjusted from a traditional triathlon, they are very close to the classic Half Iron Distance, making this an exhilarating experience for competitors. Join us for a day filled with camaraderie, competition, and the spirit of athletic achievement! Who knows, if the event is a success, it could pave the way for the inaugural Evolve Full Distance Triathlon next year!
Organiser's Description
The event starts with a refreshing 2k swim in the glorious Blue Lagoon in Womersley, in Yorkshire, followed by a 90k bike (2x45k loops) on the quiet roads and in the stunning countryside of what is locally called Mid Yorkshire! Finally a two loop 20k run on the quiet roads around the Blue Lagoon. The distances are slightly different to an official distance triathlon, but if anything are very close to a classic Half Iron Distance! If this event is a success, who knows, next year may see the inaugural Evolve Full Distance Triathlon!!!
