Heyford Air Base Half, 10k & 5k
Set in the beautiful Cherwell Valley countryside, the routes all utilise the base's Runway, RAF Taxiway and NATO Taxiway and are therefore pancake flat, traffic-free and pretty much PB guaranteed!
Choose between the 5k, 10k or Half Marathon - all equally good for those venturing into racing, moving up a distance or aiming to set a new PB. There's also a 1k Junior Race. Something for the whole family and a safe environment for spectators, with refreshments and plenty of history around you!
The running festival is part of a multi-sport weekend at Heyford Airbase over 20/21 June. On Saturday 20, the day before our running events, we are holding the Heyford Duathlon, ideal for total beginner or experienced competitors. Choose from either the sprint or standard distance:
08:30 to 09:30
All finishers will receive a medal
Prizes will be awarded in the Half Marathon, 10k and 5k events to the top three runners overall and the top runner in each of the veteran categories (V40/V50/V60/V70) for both males and females.
