Organiser's Description

A chip timed 7 mile, multi-terrain, mostly flat course starting and finishing within the spectacular grounds of Kirkstall Abbey. The route takes in riverside paths and the canal towpath as well as road and the grounds of the Abbey.

Every finisher will receive a medal and a beer.

Note: There will be no entries available on the day of the race.

Course Details

This is a mostly flat course starting and finishing within the spectacular grounds of Kirkstall Abbey. The route takes in riverside paths and the canal towpath as well as road and the specacular grounds Kirkstall Abbey.

How to Get There

Kirkstall Abbey is at the side of the A 65 which runs from Leeds centre out past Horsforth. The address is Abbey Rd, Kirkstall, Leeds LS5 3EH.

Parking

Free car parking is available on surrounding roads. There is no parking in the grounds of the Abbey.

Location

The Abbey Museum cafe across the road from the start/finish serves drinks and snacks.

FAQs

  • Can I race in a wheelchair?

    The course is not suitable for wheelchairs and is uneven in parts and slippery if wet

  • Where do I collect my number?

    Race numbers will be available for collection on the day of the race from the race HQ at Kirkstall Abbey from 9am.

  • When are the prizes presented?

    All trophies/prizes presented at the race HQ approx 11:15am

  • When will final race details be released?

    Final event details will be emailed to all runners on approx. 13th Sept and posted on kirkstallharriers.org.uk

Refunds/ Deferral Policy

No refunds or deferrals available. If the race is cancelled for any reason, all entrants will be offered a free entry to the 2024 event. Free transfer of race entry to another person will be possible up to 22nd September by emailing your full details and those of the transfer recipient

Well organised and friendly. Testy route with a few undulations but scenic. Fast finish once you come up the last hill. Recommended event.
