Participants will experience the thrill of ascending Loughrigg and Wansfell before navigating the legendary five passes, including the daunting Garburn Pass and the relentless climb up Gatescarth Pass. The race reaches its pinnacle at the summit of Harter Fell, offering stunning vistas and a sense of accomplishment. A technical scramble up Stoney Cove Pike leads to a final ascent before the exhilarating descent through Scandale Pass and the Coffin Route, guiding runners back to the finish line in Grasmere. This event promises an incredible challenge for all trail running enthusiasts and a chance to experience the majestic beauty of one of England's most beloved landscapes!
Organiser's Description
The steep climb up Wansfell is followed by the fast descent into Troutbeck. Garburn Pass is the first of the five passes, then the never ending slog up Gatescarth Pass is waiting. The summit of Harter Fell is the high point of the race. A scree descent to Thresthwaite Mouth and a technical scramble up Stoney Cove Pike, then a long descent to St Ravens Crag and Kirkstone Pass. One final tough ascent before taking Scandale Pass down and finally picking up the Coffin Route to the finish back at Grasmere.
