Get ready for a unique and exciting marathon experience at the Mods vs Rockers Marathon organised by findarace.com on Sunday 16th February 2020 in Deal, Kent. Participants will have the opportunity to choose between being a Mod or a Rocker, followed by a dance off before a coin toss determines the direction of the race. The marathon will take place on a 'hybrid loop' at Betteshanger, combining trails and a tarmac track. Runners will complete 8 x 3.28 mile laps, with one group running clockwise and the other anti-clockwise to create a fun and spirited atmosphere. Organiser's Description
This will be a bit of a different marathon. So what's so different? Firstly, you choose to be a Mod or a Rocker. Then, before the start, there will be a dance off... ah, OK, then a coin toss!. The winning group chooses which way to run, clockwise or anti-clockwise.
We're using a new 'hybrid loop' at Betteshanger, partly on the trails, partly on the tarmac track, on the trails you'll all run the same way, but on the tarmac loop, one group run clockwise, and the other anti clockwise to generally taunt, abuse, cajole or support the runners going around the in opposite direction! Marathon only event, complete 8 x 3.28 mile laps to finish!
