A spring classic in the Hope Valley, one of the most spectacular parts of the Peak District!
Choose between the long 69km or the medium 52km route taking in a mix of gravel and back roads – ideal to give you something to train for over the long cold months.
The route takes in wild sections of the moors, the fun & flowing Monsal Trail, gravel tracks around the national park, back roads with epic views and some glorious secret local spots.

Get off the beaten track on some stunning sections over the moors and through rolling hills with amazing views over the Peaks.
Ride through the historic "plague village" at Eyam
WHAT TO EXPECT
For an early season ride this is pretty challenging with some tough climbs and a variety of terrain but it’s very rewarding as we get off the beaten track and see some stunning places in the Peaks. Expect the long ride to take 4.5 to 6.5 hours and the medium route to take 3.5 to 5.5 hours.
RIDE DIFFICULTY
Both routes are challenging and the medium route doesnt cut off too much elevation. There is a tough climb at the start & a tough climb after the lunch stop but the views are worth it!

TECHNICAL DIFFICULTY
The route is 50/50 on & off road with the gravel being a real mix of terrain from smooth gravel, forest tracks to rockier sections and some narrow trails.

TYRE & BIKE RECOMMENDATIONS
This route is designed for gravel bikes but you will be fine on a hardtail MTB. We do send out tyre recommendations closer to the time as if it’s wet you will want wide, knobbly tyres. In normal conditions, a slightly wider, all-rounder tyre (40-50mm) will be ideal.
EVENT PROGRAM
13th March: GPX files and pre ride briefing sent by email to each rider.
15th March: 7.30am: Ride village in Hope opens. Collecting your ride number takes approx 10 mins.
15th March: 8am to 8,45am: Ride start. We will give you a short ride briefing and set you off in small groups.
15th March: 6pm: Rider village closes.
15th March: 7pm: Link to ride times & rider photos sent to each participant by email
