Run Wigan Festival
The Run Wigan Festival has 4 different race distances to choose from. Half Marathon, 10 Miler, 5k and Family Mile. 2020 see's the RWF 4th year showcasing some of the fantastic sights that Wigan has to offer.
Music and live entertainment along the route including a brass band and super singer and guitarist keeps all our runners spirits up. A range of live bands play throughout the day on the main stage in the town centre keeping the spectators busy. With continental markets lining the streets to offer some fabulous food and drink.
We have some fantastic prizes to offer in all distances including 1st, 2nd and 3rd plus age categories and race records for both male and female runners, where you can win cash prizes should you beat the time.
Brilliant bling, jam packed goody bags and wait for it... a FREE PIE to all Half Marathon, 10 Mile and 5k runners means the Run Wigan Festival is one running event that should be on your calendar!
The Half Marathon and the 10 Miler's set off at the same time but branch off around mile 8 where the halves hit the challenge of Haigh Woodland Park hill up to the stunning country house, Haigh Hall, and the 10 milers cruise through the Plantations. The Half Marathon and the 10 Miler have recently attracted some trail runners due to the varying terrain of the iconic Leeds Liverpool Canal stretch of the race but don't let that worry you as the majority is smooth sailing.
The 5k is a super fast and flat route, perfect for those chasing a PB. With both this distance and the Family Mile running through the picturesque Mesnes Park.
First-hand event reviews from people who've been there, done that and got the breathable T-shirt, really help everyone choose their next event.
It only takes a few seconds and every month we randomly select someone who has taken the time to write a review and send them a £50 Wiggle voucher.
