Existing the venue was a nightmare. Took me over one hour to leave the grounds. Very unorganised.

The run itself was great. A lovely scenic and smooth course I ran my quickest 10k for a few years. However I was a bit frustrated to arrive at 9am for the 9:30 am start to find I could drive into the estate because the half marathon route meant the roads were closed. It meant a long walk in to the event village. Hundreds of people had a similar problem. If the instructions said I needed to arrive by say 8:45 to be able drive in then I would have.

Hilly. This one is in the grounds of Knebworth, you will be finishing outside the castle. The route is a little hilly, you will be running in and out of the grounds. Aim to be there earlier than a normal race due to the single track car entrance. There is car parking on site, which is a field of long grass. The goodie bag had to be THE best of all my half marathons, it included a large bag of bath salts, excellent! Crowd support is really only at the end.

Very well organised - but a bit hilly. Ran this yesterday - would do it again and most of it was fantastic - but the hill finish really made the finish line seem far away!!

Amazing event. This was my first half and although it was challenging I loved it. Very hilly but absolutely beautiful scenery. Well organised just wish it had been more supported.

Great first half marathon event. Had a really great time running my first half marathon. It was well organised with e-mails and race pack ahead of the day, all the event staff were friendly and cheerful and there were lots of food stalls etc. at the finish. I hope to do it again next year!
Congrats on your first half!!

First go. This was my first half marathon, I think I could have picked a kinder course to start with, the final hill before the finish line was brutal! Saying that I enjoyed the run, I just wouldn’t recommend it as a first half marathon!! 😁
