Organiser's Description

The second of the 2019 Meon Valley Village 10k series takes in some lovely views and beautiful 'closed' roads, before entering Creech Woods, part of the Forest of Bere. Run all three of the Meon Valley Village 10ks and receive an awesome themed medal.

The historic village of Southwick played a large part in the planning of the D-day landings as the home of General Eisenhower and Winston Churchill.

How To Get There

Southwick is about 6 miles North of Portsmouth, off the B2177. Use postcode PO17 6EA for your satnav.

There is no direct bus service from Portsmouth to Southwick, however, there are services departing from City Centre, City Shops South and arriving at Southwick, Golden Lion, via Cosham Interchange. The journey, including transfers, takes approximately 1h 32m.

There are several railway stations nearby, at Fareham, Portchester (the closest at 3 miles away) and Cosham, on the West Coastway Line which runs between Brighton and Southampton.
