Starman Night Triathlon

Glenmore Forest Park, Aviemore, Inverness

Loch Morlich Watersports, Glenmore Forest Park, Aviemore, Inverness, UK

Sat 14th August 2021

Organiser's Description

The UK’s first midnight middle-distance triathlon. Set in the mighty Cairngorms National Park, this is a sleepless, wild and intimidating triathlon under the stars.

Starting at midnight, you will slip into the cool, dark waters of Loch Morlich. You will then ride along the dark, silent, snaking tarmac roads of Speyside, watching for wildlife on the way, and finishing with the brutal switchback climb at the base of Cairn Gorm. This is a very tough end to the ride, taking you to over 1000m of ascent.

From T2, your run will climb to the exposed mountain summit of Cairn Gorm, back down through Glenmore Forest as the sun rises, past the Green Loch to the Ryvoan Bothy, up and over Meall a’ Bhuachaille and down to finish back where you started at the Beach Hub, where you will collect your unique STARMAN medal and some well-deserved breakfast!

Distances

Swim 1.2 miles, Cycle 56 miles, Run 13.1 miles
