SwimRun Fritton Lake - Autumn

Fritton, Norfolk

Fritton Lake Outdoor Centre, Church Lane, Fritton, United Kingdom

Sun 6th October 2019

Organiser's Description

SwimRun Fritton Lake is returning twice in 2019. The Summer edition embodies fun and team work with a healthy serving of mud under a Summer sky, whilst this Autumn Edition provides cooler water in the true spirit of Otillo. With trails through the pristine woodland of the privately owned Somerleyton Estate in Norfolk, and beautiful views as you plunge into Fritton Lake, this event delivers a huge amount of fun as you race in areas not normally accessible to the public.

In teams of two you will complete a 10k course comprised of 6 run sections and 5 swims, each offering stunning views and varied terrain. You will share the experience, the fun, the beauty and the suffering as you race the pre-marked course, alternating between running and swimming. Running in your wetsuit/swimming kit and swimming in your trainers you will travel through beautiful unspoilt surroundings immersed (literally!) in nature.

The route totals approximately 1800m of open water swimming, entering and exiting at various locations along the Lake, and approximately 8.2k of mixed terrain running - you will explore both sides of the lake and cross the Norfolk/Suffolk boundary many times. In the Autumn, the stages will be completed in reverse order, covering the route in an anti-clockwise direction.

Distances

10 km total 1800m swim, 8.2 km run
