Join us for the thrilling Castle Race Series - Howard Castle Duathlon, Triathlon & Aquabike taking place from Saturday, July 23rd to Sunday, July 24th, 2022, in the stunning surroundings of York, North Yorkshire. This exciting event, organised by Castle Race Series, invites participants of all ages and abilities to challenge themselves in a variety of disciplines, including triathlon, duathlon, aquabike, aquathlon, swim, and run. With race distances ranging from starter to elite, there's something for everyone, whether you're a first-time competitor or a seasoned athlete.

Immerse yourself in the breathtaking rural landscape of the Howardian Hills as you swim in Castle Howard’s Great Lake, cycle through picturesque countryside, and run towards a triumphant finish right at the iconic doors of the historic estate. Beyond the races, the weekend promises a vibrant festival village filled with live music, delicious food and drink, shopping, children's entertainment, yoga sessions, and more. Organiser's Description

Join us to race through the glorious rural idyll of Yorkshire and the Howardian Hills. Pick your discipline - triathlon, duathlon, aquabike, aquathlon, swim and run - and choose a distance from starter to elite. Recruit your friends and celebrate completing your challenge in our festival village.

Swim through Castle Howard’s Great Lake, cycle through the Howardian Hills, run through the undulating countryside of the estate before a sprint finish tops everything off in style right in front of the main doors of the house.

Throughout the weekend, athletes and spectators will be able to enjoy a fun-packed festival village featuring live music, shopping, food and drink, children’s entertainment, yoga and more.

The weekend will host a huge range of races for all ages and abilities. Whether you’re 9 or 90 years old, a first-timer or an elite, you can pick from our triathlon, duathlon, aquabike, aquathlon, run and swim races. We have relays and mixed relays too!

Governing body

We are delighted to announce that this event is governed by British Triathlon. If you are competing in a triathlon or multisport event you will need a valid membership of day licence to compete.

Our Middle Distance Duathlon has been awarded qualifier status for the 2023 European Championship. Find out more here. Once registered, athletes must to register their intent to qualify via the BTF website here.
