The Fugitive

Organiser's Description

The Fugitive takes place across the scenic Thames Valley area.

Swim the river, cycle the hilly open roads, or run the flat Thames path - with a mixture of grass, tarmac, and trail - taking in the views of Marlow and the surrounding areas.

Join the Triathlon for the ultimate challenge, or either of our Duathlon/Aquabike categories if you prefer to focus on specific disciplines.

If you only fancy a dip in the Thames, then pick one of our swim-only categories instead and get yourself wet!

With multiple distances for each discipline, you’ll find something to challenge yourself this summer.

Event merchandise is available for purchase during registration for delivery by the following weekend when ordered by Sunday.
The Fugitive is a scenic course in the Thames Valley, taking in the views of Marlow and the surrounding areas. The event includes a fairly flat run with a hilly cycle route on open roads.

What's Included

All finishers will receive a medal on completing their event and, subject to a competitive field of participants, prizes may be available for the top three places overall - and the top place in each of the veteran categories (V40/V50/V60/V70) - for both females and males at each distance. Winners will be notified via email by the end of the following week once results are considered final.

licensing

This event is draft-illegal (TT bikes permitted) and is expected to be licensed with the British Triathlon Federation (BTF), the competition rules of which can be found here. We recommend participants familiarise themselves with the information therein, specifically sections­­ 4 (Swimming), 5 (Cycling), 6 (Running) & 7 (Transition) for details on equipment and their expected conduct during the event. Entry includes day membership for non-BTF members which will be provided on event day.

race packs

Bib numbers (and bike stickers/swimming caps where applicable) are available for collection at the event only, participants should not expect to receive anything by mail.

facilities

Medical Cover
Suitable medical cover is provided at our events in case of a medical emergency.

Bag Drop
Bag drop will not be available at this event. Participants should leave all belongings with their vehicle/in transition where possible and arrive ready to run.

Photography
Event images are expected to be available, usually within 24 hours of the event.

Water Stations
Water will be available on the run route only; participants must carry with them anything necessary to refuel and hydrate during the remainder of the event.

Toilets
Toilets will be available around the start/finish/lap point for use throughout the event. Toilets will not be available on the routes.

Changing Rooms/Showers
There are no dedicated changing rooms/showers.

Wheelchairs
This event is not suitable for wheelchair users due to the nature of the terrain.

Spectators
Spectators are permitted at this event.

Earphones/Headphones
The use of earphones/headphones is prohibited throughout this event.
