Organiser's Description

The Scottish 1 Mile (3/7/22) Silverknowes, 10am
* Welcome to the 1st year of this flat, fast and furious 1 mile event with a guarantee of no headwind!
* It is a wide, tarmac seaside route at Silverknowes Promenade, Edinburgh offering PB galore.
* The start and finish line will be determined by the direction of the wind to ensure you are not battling against it.
* The route will be marshalled and first aiders will be present.
* Senior and Junior races (under 18)

- Heat 1 at 10am is for females only and for those who expect to run below 6min 30s
- Heat 2 at 10.10 am is for males only and is for those who expect to run below 6 minutes
- Heat 3 at 10.20am is for males and females and is for those who expect to run above 6min 30s
- The Junior race at 10.30am is mixed gender for all runners under 18
- The top 30 times from all heats (including the junior race) will be put through to the FINAL at 11am

* Medals for all finishers
* Prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Male / Female and 1st Male / Female in all age categories, V40, V50, V60, V70
* 300 maximum entries

Course Details

The course is completely flat and follows a beachside promenade beside the Firth of Forth estuary in Edinburgh. It's perfect for setting a PB!

You can expect a pre event email with race info, loads of support and a friendly welcome on the day, results will be emailed to you on the day.

  • What time does it start?

  • Can I push my buggy?

    Unfortunately not for this event.

  • Can I run with my dog?

    Sadly our insurance will not cover this option.

  • How old do you have to be to take part?

    You should be at least 7 years old but we are happy to take your parent's opinion whether you can take part or not.

  • Is there a cut off time?

    15 minutes per mile.

  • Is it route marked?

    Yes and we have marshals on the course to help guide you too.

  • Is there a water station?

    Yes, water and Active Root will be provided at the finish line.

  • Is there a bag drop?

    Yes, you can leave your stuff with us at the registration area (at your own risk).
