Good race. The race itself was well organised with plenty of friendly Marshall’s offering support as you go round. The only negative was the lack of toilets. There was about 5 portaloos for 500. There was a queue with some missing the start of the race due to waiting
We totally understand your feedback and were disappointed ourselves with the size of the queue for the loos. We always have a ‘wash-up’ meeting after each event and that is an issue that is certainly on our notes to discuss. Our initial investigations show that we had a similar number of runners and loos this year to last. However, last year we didn’t have the same problem with large queues. We suspect the reason for such a long queue this year might be because many runners went back to their car after they collected their numbers in order to keep warm. Understandably, I think they came back to the race start a little later than they might otherwise had the weather been nicer. We think this then led to a large number joining the loo queue at the same time. As I say, we will be discussing it over the next day or so and will take steps to make sure we have more loos next year and, where necessary, monitor the use of them in adverse weather conditions and, if our assumptions are correct, try to order some more if the forecast is bad to account for the change in runner behavior during colder conditions. I hope this will go some way to allay your concerns. Fortunately, as the run is chip timed you will have received an accurate time. Thanks again for coming along and hope to see you at a future hoohaah event.
