Organiser's Description
2016 sees the 26th running of the Wenlock Olympian Triathlon and the 6th year of the new course. Athletes swim 500m in the pool, bike 19k round an undulating circuit through Buildwas, Leighton, Cressage and Sheinton before attacking the final 15% climb up onto the Wenlock Edge. The respite of the first downhill of the run soon gives way to a series of climbs to the turnaround point at Wyke, and the final run home also sees the gradient rising. What a brilliant way to spend an hour and a quarter….or a bit longer!!
