The second edition of the Westonbirt Duathlon will take place in the picturesque surroundings of Westonbirt, The National Arboretum, one of the World's finest botanical collections of trees and shrubs. The event is open to seasoned triathletes and newcomers, the course is fast and will no doubt attract some of the most talented athletes. This is a race not to be missed!
The 5k run route will take you through some of the most spectacular scenery of the Arboretum, before taking you into transition and out onto the open rural roads.

By Car: Use DE13 7AR for satellite navigation systems.
M1 (southbound) – exit at Junction 28 and take the A38 south bypassing Derby and Burton to the A513 Tamworth. Follow local signage to Alrewas, then brown signs to site entrance.
M1 (northbound) – exit onto M6 north then after Corley Services , follow signs for M6 (Toll) & M42. Leave at next junction (Junction 9 M42 ) signposted A 446, then follow A446 Lichfield to A38 Lichfield, then A38 Derby to A513 Tamworth. Follow local signage to Alrewas, then brown signs to site entrance.
M6 (southbound) – exit Junction 15 and follow A50 Derby then A38 Lichfield to A 513 Tamworth. Follow local signage to Alrewas, then brown signs to site entrance.
M6 (northbound) South of Birmingham – follow signs for M6 (Toll) & M42, then leave at next junction (Junction 9 M42 ) signposted A 446. Follow A446 Lichfield to A38 Lichfield, then A38 Derby to A513 Tamworth. Follow local signage to Alrewas, then brown signs to site entrance.
M6 (northbound) & M6 North of Birmingham – leave M6 at Junction 11, follow A5 then A38 Derby until A513 Tamworth. Follow local signage to Alrewas, then brown signs to site entrance.
M54 (eastbound) – leave at Junction 1 and take A460 Cannock passing over M6. Continue towards the A5 (Tamworth), then A38 Derby until A513 Tamworth. Follow local signage to Alrewas, then brown signs to site entrance.
By train: Lichfield Trent Valley is the closest railway station (5-6 miles). Trains from Lichfield Trent Valley run southbound to London Euston via Milton Keynes Central and northbound to Crewe via Stafford and Stoke-on-Trent.Additional Virgin Trains services also call, providing links to Manchester Piccadilly, Lancaster, Glasgow Central, Liverpool Lime Street, Crewe, Preston and Carlisle in the northbound direction and to London southbound.
Parking will be within the grounds othe Arboretum and just a short walk to the registration building. There will be a small fee of £5 for this.

There is no bag drop facility so please leave all valuables in your car.
Water will be located at the start/finish, bu due to the nature of the race we advise you to plan your race fuel and take your own water and fuel/gels on route.

Minimum age for competitors
The minimum age to take part in this event is 17.
British Triathlon Federation Rules
BTF rules, All competitors must comply with BTF rules, (it is recommended that you read the BTF rules and regulations which will be applied to his race)
All competitors must be licensed to race, those non BTF members will be required to pay a £5GBP levy for a day license. This is included in the non member entry cost.
Keep racing tidy
If you intend to use your own nutrition please keep hold of it until you reach a suitable place to discard of it.
We would appreciate if you would either wait until you reach a dedicated trash zone or give them to a marshal.
Security will be present in the transition area. Only competitors wearing their ID will be allowed in or out.
Your race pack will include a race number and 2 stickers which are to be attached to your bike and helmet. This must be done prior to entering the transition zone.
No riding is allowed in the transition zone. Your helmet must be fastened on your head at all times whilst you are on tour bike or running through transition with your bike.
