COVID-19 INFORMATION
These will comply with the Governing Body Guidelines the TRA, under the auspices of England Athletics and the ARC.
- Hand sanitiser will be placed outside all toilets, as well as on a table. Paper toilet seat covers, one per person, will be used in toilets and portable loos
- Seated staff will wear masks.
- For the WNR start, we will be using a rolling start wave window split in to two one hour windows.
- The Mild Night Run will be signed and marshalled and Wild Night Runners will be given the option of doing two laps instead of the Wild Night Run route, which is a self navigation event and will be unmarked.
- Race chips/numbers will be collected at registration.
- There will be no prize giving ceremony.
- Water and finisher’s medals will be located remote from the Finish to discourage social gathering (our biggest concern).
- All marshals will be given bin bags and disposable gloves. Anyone caught littering will be disqualified.
We will be signing runners back in back in when they finish their run outside the Old School Community Centre entrance. All runners will be issued with an NFC chip which will be used to sign in at the finish. They will swipe themselves in at the end and we will have a manual paperback system. We will be accounting for all of our runners with this new back-up policy. This applies to ALL runners. We will also have sweepers out on the course for both distances.
Organiser's Description
The first three miles is mainly uphill following the river to Shipley Bridge with one or two brief descents to give you some respite. There is then a tarmac section (though still slightly uphill) before you get out onto Dartmoor, turning right at the Avon bridge before the boundary stones
(missing out the Abbott’s Way). Blizzards, nearly waist deep bogs – you’ll find them all in this section of the course. The route then heads to Didworthy and up Diamond Lane towards Corringdon Ball gates and back via Aish Ridge and Lydia Bridge.
It no longer includes the notoriously muddy Brent Hill. This is a tough race and not for the faint-hearted.
5 MILE MILD NIGHT RUN. (Marked course and marshalled)
Still wild but shorter. This follows the stunning river path from South Brent to Shipley Bridge, mainly uphill with a couple of short downs, then loops round to descend a steep rocky track (care needed) before rejoining the last section of the river path. Still challenging but aimed at less experienced runners.
Prizes
There will be prizes for the fastest overall podium finishers in senior and vets categories.
Race entry includes: electronic chip timing, fully marked out course using poles and canes, arrows, feed station, Birch wood finisher’s medal for all finishers,
Free number transfer if you are unable to run, prizes & spot prizes (via our free to join Strava club).
Following the success of last year’s Wild Night Run, we have decided to make this course a self navigation and un marked event. The Mild Night Run will however be fully marked and marshalled for the one and two lap events, which will both be mass starts.
The WNR will be held with a one hour start window, using our bespoke NFC timing. An A4 foldable, waterproof course map will be included with your entry.
